River Phoenix spam

In case you didn't know, I'm in love with River Phoenix and I recently did the 30 River Phoenix Question Challenge on Tumblr, here are my answers :)

1) How did you come across River?
When I was 12, we watched Stand by Me in my English class. From the first scene he appeared in I had a big crush.

2) What was the first River movie you saw?
Stand By Me (1986)

3) What about River do you find yourself eerily alike?
I would say that we both fight for animal rights, we like similar music and to create.

4) Do you listen to Aleka’s Attic? If so, favorite song?
Yes, I started listening to them when I was 12 (when I knew about it) and my favourite songs are Scales and Fishnails (tumblr URL ;p), Too many colors and Note to a Friend.

5) River or Joaquin?
Even though I like Joaquin, I’m in love with River.

6) Any fims that you wish River would have been casted in?
Too many to choose.

7) Were/are you upset about his passing?
Of course! When my English teacher told me that he was dead I cried for him for a year every night and I still do some nights. Some people would think is stupid, but that’s how it is.

8) Favorite character River has played?
Chris Chambers, Charlie Fox and Mike Waters.

9) Favorite movie.
Stand by Me is just too good. But I also love My Own Private Idaho.

10) Favorite River look (hairstyle, age)
I love every look, if I had to choose it’d probably be his long blond hair, just so hot.

11) Martha Plimpton or Samantha Mathis?
Martha Plimpton!

12) Preferred River as an actor or musician?
I think maybe as an actor, but I love his music and voice (like an orgasm).

13) Least favorite movie.
Don’t really know…

14) A song that reminds you of River.
Hey Jude (The Beatles), London Callling (The Clash; when it says “I live by the river”), Aleka’s Attic songs, On Cornerstone (Arctic Monkeys), Stand by Me (Ben E. King), Lost Art of Murder (Babyshambles), and a lot moreee…

15) How would you feel about Dark Blood being remade/released?
I think I would maybe watch it, just to see how bad it is without him in and to cry afterwards. Naah, wouldn’t like it.

16) Any actor/actress you’d love to have seen River work with.
Johnny Depp, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, George Clooney and Woody Allen.

17) Favorite quote said by River.
“I can`t on my own change the regime in South Africa or teach the Palestinians to learn to live with the Israelies, but I can start with me.” It’s really inspiring.

18) If you and River were friends what do you think the two of you would bond over?
I think music, Nature and peace.

19) Do you think River’s stress and depression with life, and the business played a key factor in his death?
I’m 90% sure of it.

20) Pick a movie that you wish River and Joaquin would’ve starred in opposite each other.
I don’t know, they should have a new one.

21) Favorite scene. Why?
My Own Private Idaho when Hans dances for them because I think it’s funny and adorable how River looks, or in Stand by Me the campfire talk because it’s just hilarious and real.

22) What about River’s untimely death saddens you the most?
I think that what saddens me the most is that he could have done incredible things not just as an actor or musicien but as a person and that it must have been devastating for his friends, family and admirers.

23) Favorite fan video of River. and others!

24) Do you take River’s philosophical views to heart, and in a way agree with him? (eg vegetarianism, animal rights)
I’m trying to convince my parents to let me be a vegetarian and I fight for animal rights too.

26) Favorite song from The Thing Called Love.
Lone star state of mine.

27) A young actor today who reminds you of River.
Leonardo Dicaprio when he was younger.

28) Favorite picture.

I just love it.

29) If you had a chance to meet River what would you ask/say to him?
I think that if I could actually talk properly to him without peeing in my pants I would tell him that he has been a real influence and has changed my life in the nicest way he could.

30) What affect has River made on your life, and what importance is he to you?I think River Phoenix has made a huge impact on my life and has made me a better person. He has taught me so many things and helped me to understand aspects of this life. Even though I don’t know him personally, he is someone I love the most and I will always love him. I think that my love for River Phoenix is big and I feel like I knew him in real life because he was so pure and true. He is my role model and a true inspiration.

Now here are some River photos for you to enjoy :)

The other day I watched the documentary Earthlings. It's basically a documentary about animal exploitation divided in five parts:

- First part: animals used as pets

- Second part: animals used as food

- Third part: animals used as clothes

- Fourth part: animals used for entertainement

- Fith part: animals used for experimental research

Earhlings is hard to watch because of it's visual content, but I think it's an instructive documentary that everyone should watch to take a little time to think about the human being abuse over animals.
It's narrated by Joaquin Phoenix (my platonic love's brother) and it teaches you about speciesism, animals rights...
What I like about this documentary is that it's not the tipical blood-full video, Earthlings has an interesting point of vue and tries to make you concious about the Earth today.
I totally recomend this documentary to vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters, EVERYONE! :)

Tell me what you think about it!

Did I mention that I saw Peter Doherty?

Sunday 17th- Peter Doherty's concert in Madrid (AAAAH OH MY GOOOOD!!!). Yeah, well I couldn't go in because it was for people over 18. I still asked my parents to go and try to see him at the end of the concert when he gets out by that small door that no one knows (except that everyone knew where that door was). Anyway, I went there with my parents and we had dinner and blahblah and then we went to wait for Pete. Hopefully there was a "Churros con chocolate" place just next to the door, so my parents could wait sitting there and eating something and could relax a little bit while I was trying to hear something from the concert.
Well one of the emergency doors was slightly opened so I was able to hear, with another girl who was doing exactly the same thing as I, one of my favourite songs from his solo album Grace/Wastelands : Last of the English Roses. Then someone opened another door and I was able to see him!!! I was already flying. When the song finished, a mean security guy asked "What are you doing here? Nothing? Then LEAVE!", and he closed the door loudly. But I was already happy because I had seen my platonic love.

When the concert ended, some other fans came where I was and we waited together, but after two hours people started to feel tired so most of them left. I didn't want to leave (and thank goodness there was a place to sit for my parents because they wouldn't have waited all that time if there wasn't). Suddenly one of the guys that was waiting outside like me said "I'm gonna try something crazy" and he oppened an emergency door and disappeared. After half an hour or so, the something-crazy-guy oppened the door we were waiting in front of and said "We're gonna go inside in little groups of two or three, but don't tell anyone". So I was like putting my "pleaseeeeeeeeeee take me inside-look" and he said "okay, you, and blahblah".
So we went inside!! My legs were shaking and I was reaaaally nervous. We entered in a room, like backstage, where people were smoking, drinking, playing guitar... and then I saw HIM, Peter Doherty was in front of me (he's freaking tall). I can imagine how I looked like: creepy big eyes, mouth opened, legs shaking... And a girl came to kick us out. I was already the happiest person on earth, and while I was going upstairs to get back to the street, I turned around and Peter was just behind me, less than a metre between us! I think it was really nice from him to come out and say hi to his fans because he was having real fun in that room!

We went out and then all the fans threw themselves over him so I wasn't able to take proper pictures, but I mean, not many people can say that they've been in Pete Doherty's backstage!

I need Free People in Madrid.

Sasha Pivovarova for Free People

So I'm obsessed with Free People. I like all, or most of their clothes because they look so "hippie" if I can say it like that, because it looks so not worked, but actually it's perfectly mesured and strategically thrown-together, so not exactly hippie-kind. Anyway, I think Free People is a really fun and cool brand and I'd love to have on of their stores in Madrid (I think there isn't one yet, if I'm wrong please tell me WHERE CAN I FIND IT!!).

I don't know why, but this look and the picture remind me of the summer afternoons in my beloved Cádiz.
This combination of electric blue and black just blew my mind away.
I recently found out that one of the bloggers I follow since a few months (Dylana Suarez from Color Me Nana) is moving to Philadelphia for a stylist job in Free People! I'm really happy that she got that opportunity because I think she really deserves it and I think this job fits her perfectly. Her style is just so cool and I'm sure she'll provide a lot of good stuff to the brand. I'm really looking forward to seeing what she does and how she goes in Philadelphia and I hope she'll enjoy this opportunity.

Homosexualidad y Open-mindness
